Alanna of Trebond is the first female lady knight in centuries, and when she goes to fierce Bazhir tribeman of the desert, she must prove herself. She becomes one of the tribe, and stays there. During her stay, she settles into being a lady knight, what she would like to do with her life, and her relationship with Jonathan and George. Also read the books before it. An Excellent Guide to becoming a well balanced Woman of God`
Thank the Lord for this Prayer & Purpose Planner. I am a single young adult and I used this planner as my biblical based, creative way to balance my life and walk with Christ Jesus. Applying myself to each page helped bring forth a new me, as well as, gifts and talents that were locked dormant in my innmer man. I walk by Faith, but,I like having my personal images in front of me to keep me focused and remind me where I am headed. Each area in the binder represents areas in a woman's life that is always open for growth and change. This book is a personal renewal system for those desiring it. I like how you can manipulate the sections specifally towards your priority or focus: Finances, Make Overs, Apperances, Personal Missions statement. It's great and I know it was inspired by God. Bless You Stacia Pierce !

Woodrow Wilson and Harry Truman : Mission and Power in American Foreign Policy
Published in Hardcover by Praeger Publishers (March, 2003)
Author: Anne R. Pierce
Average review score:

A must-read on 20th Century American Foreign Policy
This gets you thinking about the importance of the American foreign policy tradition in a way other books don't-provides a refreshing alternative to the cynical and negative view of American history. The focus on Wilson and Truman leads to a much broader discussion of American ideals and foreign policy. The writing is powerful and the research is persuasive.

It lists his title, their web address and regular address along with the phone number. It also has a nice part with state boards of tourism, foreign chambers of commerce and their tourist board equivelents. Highly Recommended.

The Worship Warrior
Published in Paperback by Regal Books (November, 2002)
Authors: Chuck D. Pierce and John Dickson
Average review score:

Superb!
This is one of the best books on worship I've read in a long time. The book talks all about "Ascending in worship, descending in war", just as in biblical times the worshippers led the people into war. It's about spending time with God in worship, in getting to know Him better, and to hear His heart, and then to go out from there to live life His way, including knowing how better to pray for people. I highly recommend it for all Christians!

Writings of Charles S. Peirce: A Chronological Edition, Volume 6, 1886-1890
Published in Hardcover by Indiana University Press (June, 2000)
Authors: Nathan Houser, Editors of the Pierce Edition Project, and Peirce Edition Project
Average review score:

A great thinker deserves a great book
The eight volumes of the Collected Papers of Charles Sanders Peirce, published by Harvard University Press, have been one of the most important sources for references on Peirce. But since 1958 - the year Arthur Burks edited the last volume - some other editions became public, complementing the Collected Papers. Surely it demonstrates the increasing academic interest on Peircean works, but at the same time it represents a problem for making unambiguous reference citations on the original manuscripts. Nowadays we need to recognize the efforts of Indiana University's Peirce Edition Project in publishing the complete writings of Peirce in a chronological edition (6 volumes available, 30 projected). It is the most important contribution in recent times to those who are really interested in the writings of Charles Peirce, one of the most important and influential american philosopher.

In the Hand of the Goddess
Published in Hardcover by Oxford University Press (June, 1986)
Author: Tamora Pierce
Average review score:

The Best of the entire Series!
Even though I read the Song of the Lioness series years and years ago, they are still my favorite books. Pierce's storytelling is flawless and her characters Alanna, Jonathon, Roger, George, Gary and everyone else are incredibly interesting and human. There is a great sense of adventure, starting in the beginning when Alanna duels a knight from another province during a banquet. She is later sent to the warfront, where she has more adventures, tracks Duke Roger's suspicious behavior, and has the first hint of romance. Alanna's experience with magic develops, and I loved reading about her encounter with the goddess and how she sees through Roger's magical tricks, aided with the power of her amethyst charm. The suspense with Duke Roger, her nemesis who no one else suspects of evil, builds to a thrilling climax and provides her with the chance to really prove herself. I was equally thrilled with the romance in the book -- just the right balance with her experiences as she strives to become a Knight of the Realm.

"In the Hand of the Goddess" is far and away the best fantasy book I've ever read. I can't think of any book to recommend more highly, except perhaps "Alanna: THe First Adventure" since it provides the background for this one.

In The Hands Of The Goddess...
is by far the best in the Alanna series. I read it in about 2 days, which is fast for me, it's a real page turner. The one complaint I have is the whole Alanna and Jonathon thing. I mean you don't sleep with a guy just three minutes after realizing you might like him! And I really don't believe in premarital sex so I didn't like that Ms Pierce would even suggest that! But besides that... I LOVED IT!!!
It (unlike the 1st book) has a real plot, not a bunch of lil plots squished together in one book. It's mainly about Alanna growing up and falling in "love" (awwwwww... (jk)). And she hasta tell everyone about her being a girl and stuff... But I don't wanna give too much info away so I'll just say buy it, read it, you'll love it.

BEST BOOK EVER
This is the best book of all tamora pierce's books. In the Hand of the Goddess has it all: a terrific plot (face it, you people) adventure, mystery, romance, action, war, love, and so much more. Alanna is the most enjoyable character in history; she isn't perfect--she is determined to be a knight in a man's world. This is the best book in the greatest series!
... The sexual content is NOT that graphic, I see worse stuff on t.v.... Trust me, your children see and hear worst things on television.
To anyone who hasn't read it: this is the best book in the world!! It's a girl-kick-butt series.
No matter what any critics say on here, it's the best!

Realms of the Gods
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Random House Childrens Pub (January, 1998)

Tamora Pierce is the best!!!
Tamora Pierce is my all-time favorite author... and that takes a lot. With all the books I read, it is hard to chose a favorite, but Tamora Pierce takes the cake. How the books can get less than five stars will continue to amaze me.

I have read, reread, and reread these books. I even have some parts memorized! The Realms of the Gods ends a fasinating series about an amazing girl named Daine who has a rare kind of magic that ivolves animals. Her tall and powerful teacher, the mage Numair, gets sucked into the realms of the gods with Daine, where she learns a little about her past, her enemy, her teacher, and even about her heart. Back in Tortall (current residence of Daine), there is a huge war taking place... Daine and Numair are needed... so they set out on the perilous journey packed full of surprises...

I can't say any more-- I might give it away! Oh well, but anyway- read to find out more. I have continually marveled at these books. And her other books. Read any of them-- it's all good. she is in the middle of two series right now, but my preference is the Protector of the Small books. They are about a girl named Kel who wants to be a knight. I will keep on rereading the first two books until June, when the third book Squire comes out.

Happy reading!

GREAT book!
BEFORE I write this review, I just want to say: if Tamora Pierce is reading this, PLEEEAAASSSEEE make an Immortals #5! Now I have a confession. I cried when I finished this book. I mean, the Immortals is OVER! *sob* ! Well, for people who haven't read this FANTASTIC close-up to the Immortals, here is a vauge description of the book. Numair and Daine are finally together (I mean, I could see it coming from, literally, a mile away, like way back in Wild Magic. So much for being subtle, Numair.) you meet Kitten's relatives and Daine's parents, and witness the "final battle"! What could be a better ending? Except for the fact it's cut off sort of soon. This book is packed with suspense, loads of new characters, humor, action, and, of course, romance (again, finally.). Mostly it's just Daine and Numair, and that's the first time in one of the books that you witness them alone together for a long period of time. Cloud's not in it much (wah!) but still, when you read the last sentence of the epilogue, you wish that the Immortals would never end.

Great book!
I really liked Realms of the Gods. The dragons were my favorite part of it. I've read so many descriptions of dragons in fantasy books, some portraying them as evil, some as good, and some (like this one) a little of both. But the way the Immortals series describes dragons is my all time favorite! I liked Scamp and Grizzle almost as much as Kitten! The little ones are so cute! Also, some people are saying that there should be another Tortall series. Well, there is. Two more, in fact. They're both about girls training to be knights. The first one takes place before the Immortals series and is called Song of the Lioness Quartet. It's about Alanna. The second series takes place after the Immortals Quartet. It's called Protector of the Small and is about Keladry of Mindelan. Only the first book of it is out, and Daine is in it briefly! Anyway, I'm getting too far off the subject. All I wanted to say is that Realms of the Gods--and the whole series, too--is a really great book with likable, humorous, characters.

Squire

Very good book!! you gotta read it... by Zoe G. age13
In third grade (a little too soon!) I read the "The Song of the Lioness" series, and ever after I have been posotively gobbling up Tamora Pierce's books. They are SO GREAT! When I read "First Test," I really enjoyed it, but I still liked the Alanna series better. However, with "Squire," I had a wonderful time reading it! (I lent it to several of my friends, and they're all hanging on me for "Lady Knight;" obviously they loved "Squire".) I was a smidgeon surprised when Neal wasn't the big shebang anymore, but I didn't think it was too bad... The only thing is, it makes you wonder: If Neal suddenly disappeared, will Cleon do the same?? Well, I know Tamora Pierce to do things like that (if you've read about Alanna & Jonathan, and then Alanna & George)...

Any person who believes in a strong woman equal to men will enjoy this book. I especially liked it being longer than the previous books in the series. ( The longer the better!) It has a good pace, with plenty of action, yet isn't driving the reader insane with a lack of calm moments. I also think this is (so far) the best of the "Protector of the Small." ( I'm sure my friends would say so too). Well, there's at least seven people who adore this book here in Austin TX. I say, READ THIS, or you are missing out!!

ok, yeah, listen up.
This is a great book. Really. I've read other people's reviews and I'm kinda disappointed that they aren't giving it the credit that it deserves (5 stars). I mean, no kel doesn't spend a lot of time with her old friends...but how could she?!? Thats just thinking crazy thoughts. She's traveling ALL THE TIME. Being the squire to raoul doesn't leave her much time to socialize does it? and its not like she didn't make other friends. Besides, the book was already huge....how could Pierce have fit anything else in it? . well, if he liked her he would have said something sooner, and thats that. Besides, she gave up liking neal in favor of dom right at the beginning of the book! Every girl will think shes in love with someone until someone better comes along, I mean geez, alanna changed her mind all the time, in this case it was cleon who had obviously liked kel for a while. No, he hadn't been a fully developed character in the other books...but thats ok! Now we get to know him a little better.... same goes for raoul. But anyway, I'm glad kel and cleon got together. Don't dwell on neal, he found someone else anyway:) finally, theres the whole ordeal thing. I thought it was great and not at all disappointing, and thats all I have to say on that matter. So, if you THINK THROUGH THIS LOGICALLY and don't get stuck on what YOU wanted to happen you'll really really enjoy this book. Not every story goes the way you want it to but thats no reason to deprive it of the 5 star rating that it deserves.

A book that all Tamora fans will love.
This book, the third in the Protector of the Small series, is one of Tamora Pierce's best.
Keladry of Mindelan has survived her years as a page and is moved up to a squire. But she doesn't want to be a desk knight, and is worried that a real knight won't pick her. Until Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie's Peak (yes, the same Raoul in the Alanna books, for all you Pierce fans) takes her on as squire. He treats her just like he would a regular goy squire, which is one reason she likes him. He is also the commander of the King's Own, and with him, Kel will almost definitly see plenty of action and get to try her skills. The only bad thing about this is that Sir Alanna isn't going to be her knight master - instead, she picks someone Kel is very close to! Even so, after the King's Own tracks down some badits, Kel gets stuck with a griffin and has to lug him around with the Own, which gets to be kind of troublesome. After tacking down the bandits, Kel and her knight master return home to the palace, where he helps her to joust, something she begins to get very good at. Soon, the prince's bethroed wife from the Yamani Islands comes to Tortall, where Kel helps to introduce the young princess to her new city of Corus. The entire court, servants, nobles, and squires alike, all go on a Great Progress, where the princess will be introduced to Tortall and it's people. I don't want to spoil anything else, but lets just say that things get to be even more tense between Kel and her old enemy, Joren of Stone Mountain; Kel keeps challenging herself against the door of the Chamber of the Ordeal where she has visions; and there is a great deal of trouble with the Scanrans in the north - the Kraken turns out to be a big test to Kel to prove herself to the men of the Own. All in all, this is a very exciting book, and I can't wait for the next book to come out, Lady Knight!
